Esse is a latin term for "Being" In St Kilda and possibly South Melbourne a group of us are exploring a form of Alternative Worship. It arise out of a christian context, but exploritory by nature. It is more interested in mystery than dogma, active living than belief, The event behind what we call god than common images of god. While we respect the traditions, we will also be critical of them. Esse will seek to meet on a monthly basis where the attempt to create space for the mystery of the Event can be explored as it relates to our everyday experience. It will draw on the christian tradition especially the reformed tradition, that critiques and reassesses faith in each new environment.
